Why This Group Works

Built for practical radio use, not just a placeholder landing page.

01

Open Access

Licensed GMRS operators are welcome to use the listed open repeaters, hop into the weekly net, or just monitor and learn the local traffic flow.

02

Local Coverage

The site centers on Mansfield and North Central Ohio, with nearby repeater details organized for quick reference instead of buried in generic copy.

03

Community First

Weekly nets, casual check-ins, and overlap with local ARES operators make this a useful communications network, not just a frequency list.

What GMRS gives you in the real world

GMRS is a licensed radio service that gives families and local groups dependable short-to-medium range communication without the complexity of amateur licensing. For this group, that means neighborhood coverage, travel coordination, event support, and a reliable way to stay in touch when weather or outages make phones less dependable.

Whether you are brand new to GMRS or already running a mobile rig, the easiest way to get involved is to listen in, program a local repeater, and join the Sunday net.
